Two Months

He smiles! Just often enough to make us work for it, but we love it.
He is 14lbs 12oz and 24 inches long.
Big Baby started wearing size 6 month clothes at 6 weeks.
We are still "learning" him and I'm starting to dread the eventual return to work.

March Madness

To some people basketball is March Madness, to me snow in March after a pretty dry winter is madness.

Here's the view out the front window...

And here's the  view out the back...

Big Brother

Practicing with Mouse before baby is born.

Meeting baby Paxton for the first time. Two days before Paxton was born the hospital changed it's visitation rules excluding children from visiting because of the flu season.  So Tavish didn't get to meet Paxton until the night I came home from the hospital, four days after he was born. The day after Paxton was born, we skyped from the hospital so Tavish could at least see me with the baby...we hadn't told him the baby's name until then and the first thing Tavish said was "can we call him something else?"

Our super-mom friend Jill made Tavish a big brother apron with his name on it and pockets full of things to help take care of the baby. Tavish must have carried the baby shampoo bottle around for a week. But he took his job seriously (at least initially!) and wanted to put the apron on whenever I needed his "help".

Tavish brings me the baby's bottles...he very efficiently carries some in his hoodie.

He shows us his muscles.

And shows baby Paxton the ins and outs of the playgym's toys.

When the baby fusses while we are driving in the car, Tavish puts the binky in Paxton's mouth and will sing him songs to help him calm down. For some reason though, he takes great offense at the binky that says Stud Muffin on it. He says "he is  not a studmuffin!".   I disagree.

Overall, he is turning out to be a pretty good big brother!
But in full disclosure mode...today he did pull Paxton's arm so hard he made him cry.
And it seems like we spend an inordinate amount of time saying "don't mess with the baby!"
But he's four, it's to be expected I guess.

Blessed

Today this sweet baby was blessed by his daddy at church.
And we are blessed to have him in our family.

He wore the same outfit big brother Tavish wore (it barely fit!) including these socks sent from Babcia and Dziadek  in Poland.

Our first family photo as four!

And this one was excited to sit with his BFF in the pew in front of us during sacrament and spent the opening prayer telling all the others kids, very loudly, to close their eyes. And then when I tried to shush him, again when he was very loud while they were passing sacrament, he turned around and said , loudly "shut up! I am being quiet!" Not so much kiddo.

One Month

Our little Valentine turned one month today!
He was 12lbs 4oz and 23 inches at his check up.
He was born needing a haircut and still does! It's hard not to make comparisons with Tavish, but Tavish was bald forever and then I was so surprised to have a blonde baby. When Paxton was born the first thing we saw was all this dark hair...we couldn't help but say "he looks nothing like Tavish!"
His eyes haven't really changed yet, they are still bluish-gray, I 'm curious what color they will end up being.
He had beautiful baby skin when he was born but developed a big case of baby acne a couple of days ago.
He has also developed a case of nighttime fussies with lots of gas pain...poor little guy.
He hates the carseat and displays that by having a big blowout in his diaper almost every time I put him in the carseat to take Tavish to preschool.
All in all, he is a very sweet baby who seems to be very tolerant of the craziness around him.
