Field Trip

Tavish's preschool had their spring field trip and boy was he excited!
It got delayed a week due to rain because we are having the coldest spring ever for VA.
So every day he would ask.."is the field trip today???"
Finally it was today...

Driving the tractor with his  T-shaped stick he found on the playground at preschool and has been carrying around since.

We have been to this farm park probably four other times and this is the first time the peacock has shown us his feathers...but only for a moment.

The most exciting thing???
A slug in a stump.
It was hard to tear them away.

Gotcha!

Awhile ago Tavish had a playdate at his friend Andrew's house. Andrew is the youngest of four kids and shares a room with his big brother who sleeps in the top bunk bed. Tavish went to climb up to the top bunk and the mom warned him to be careful because the bed was booby-trapped by the older brother.
Fast forward several months...a ball of pink yarn gifted from the knitting babysitter who hates pink...and a 4 year old boy that remembers the most obscure things...and this is what you get....

A booby-trapped room.
And Tavish demonstrating special agent escape techniques.
(Works best wearing robot undies)

The only person our secret agent caught?
A rogue dinosaur.

The booby traps actually started in the living room and spread throughout the main floor of the house...so we had to restrict the booby traps to the bedroom. Then after un-doing some very complicated booby traps, repeatedly, we had to restrict the method of setting the booby traps.
Mercifully, the booby trap phase seems to be over now.

Quote of the Day

Tavish: Is Tara (the new babysitter) coming today?
Me: No, I'm not working today so she's not coming.
Tavish: So you're going to babysit me?
Me: It's not babysitting when it's your mom.
Tavish: Well mom, you are babysitting me for Heavenly Father.

How can I argue with that???

Three Months

He's ticklish! And he giggles!
His eyes are still blue, but not the deep blue-gray of newborns and sometimes I think I see a little ring of green around his pupils but then I don't. Either way he has pretty eyes.
His hands are starting to look like the big "paws" that Tavish's looked like when he was born...totally Rafal's hands.
He and I are both starting to lose our hair, wah! The hair he still has is starting look a little reddish in the sunlight.
Big Baby has moved up to size 9 month clothes.
He has always stared at the ceiling fan, but Rafal turned it on one day and boy did his eyes light up!

And here's what's really going on when I'm trying to take pictures.

Meeting the (American) Grandparents

Grandma Pat came to meet her 18th grandbaby.
She was so excited to be here for his blessing she lost her skirt!

Grandma Maria...Grandpa Joe is in the wings...

Grandma Linda

Grandpa Santa...the only Grandpa brave enough to hold the baby.

Grandma Marsha

Apparently babies are too scary for Grandpa Wally, but 4 year olds are not.
Interestingly, before Dad came to visit, Tavish had been telling stories, daily, of all kinds of adventures that he and Grandpa Wally (who lives on the other side of the country) had been having. So it was fun to actually see them having their little adventures together.

Easter 2013

The Easter Bunny came!
(and so has allergy season)

Checking out his new binoculars

The Easter Bunny hid eggs while we were at church (unlike last year...Mr. Naughty) and Tavish was so excited!!!

Pez is serious business.

The Easter baby...

...with his bunny bum.
