Four Months

This boy is such a sweet baby! He is so happy in the mornings...all we have to do is say "show me your big smile!" and he does. This is nothing compared to what he will do when the camera is not around.
He loves to "talk" in the morning too and is busy with his hands. He has figured out how to pull the binky out of his mouth and chew on the sides of it but not get it back in straight. He's chewing on things like crazy...it's too early to be teething buddy! And he officially is an allergy mess complete with asthma...just like big brother :(
The stats: 17lbs. 12oz. 26.5inches
The size 9month clothes are getting tight...transitioning into 12month already!

Loved

The biggest Mother's Day sign. ever.
(courtesy of Tara the babysitter who is very smart...she said it kept Tavish busy the whole afternoon)

Homemade chocolate flourless cake...imagine it covered in whip cream, fresh raspberries and homemade caramel drizzle. Mmmmm.
Whipped up by one very busy husband who still finds the time.

And an M magnet.
Made at preschool.
Tasted by Tavish.
(see the little bite mark?)

And not pictured, but very much tasted and tasty...
homemade lasagna from the sister who is more like a mother than anyone.

Field Trip

Tavish's preschool had their spring field trip and boy was he excited!
It got delayed a week due to rain because we are having the coldest spring ever for VA.
So every day he would ask.."is the field trip today???"
Finally it was today...

Driving the tractor with his  T-shaped stick he found on the playground at preschool and has been carrying around since.

We have been to this farm park probably four other times and this is the first time the peacock has shown us his feathers...but only for a moment.

The most exciting thing???
A slug in a stump.
It was hard to tear them away.

Gotcha!

Awhile ago Tavish had a playdate at his friend Andrew's house. Andrew is the youngest of four kids and shares a room with his big brother who sleeps in the top bunk bed. Tavish went to climb up to the top bunk and the mom warned him to be careful because the bed was booby-trapped by the older brother.
Fast forward several months...a ball of pink yarn gifted from the knitting babysitter who hates pink...and a 4 year old boy that remembers the most obscure things...and this is what you get....

A booby-trapped room.
And Tavish demonstrating special agent escape techniques.
(Works best wearing robot undies)

The only person our secret agent caught?
A rogue dinosaur.

The booby traps actually started in the living room and spread throughout the main floor of the house...so we had to restrict the booby traps to the bedroom. Then after un-doing some very complicated booby traps, repeatedly, we had to restrict the method of setting the booby traps.
Mercifully, the booby trap phase seems to be over now.

Quote of the Day

Tavish: Is Tara (the new babysitter) coming today?
Me: No, I'm not working today so she's not coming.
Tavish: So you're going to babysit me?
Me: It's not babysitting when it's your mom.
Tavish: Well mom, you are babysitting me for Heavenly Father.

How can I argue with that???

Three Months

He's ticklish! And he giggles!
His eyes are still blue, but not the deep blue-gray of newborns and sometimes I think I see a little ring of green around his pupils but then I don't. Either way he has pretty eyes.
His hands are starting to look like the big "paws" that Tavish's looked like when he was born...totally Rafal's hands.
He and I are both starting to lose our hair, wah! The hair he still has is starting look a little reddish in the sunlight.
Big Baby has moved up to size 9 month clothes.
He has always stared at the ceiling fan, but Rafal turned it on one day and boy did his eyes light up!

And here's what's really going on when I'm trying to take pictures.
