UNH: Your husband is here in the ER, he was hit by a car while on his bike
Me: (shocked silence)
UHN: he tried to call you on the way here, he's in bay 6
Me: bay 6? (at least it's not the trauma bay and at least he was conscious at some point)
UHN: yes
Me: ok (picking my heart up off the floor)
Bay 6, Rafal is strapped to a backboard with a cervical collar on, he can hardly move his right arm, and his left arm is bandaged up....
Here is Rafal today...not even a car can stop him
(no Polish translation because Rafal hasn't told his family yet)
