Monster Feet

This post is not about my ginormous feet, it's about Tavish's not so ginormous feet.
It has been really cold lately, in the 30's last week and the 20's this week and we probably live in the coldest house on earth, I swear there is zero insulation, and I really, really would like to move to someplace tropical....
Anyhow, how to keep those toes toasty warm?

With monster slippers, of course!

Dwa!

Where have the last two years gone?!
Big Boy is two today....two years ago we were two stunned parents looking at this brand new baby not thinking two days ahead let alone two years!

We have all been sick this week so the birthday festivities were very quiet this year...just the three of us...

Yummy cake from Heidelberg Bakery ...

which Tavish chose to eat it in his own way .

He opened some presents from the grandparents...

...and played with his present from Mom and Dad .

Happy Birthday Tavish!!!!

Vocab

Tavish talks a lot.
He takes after Rafal...Rafal talks a lot too.
He is in the parrot phase right now, repeats everything you say...good or bad :)
Here are a few English things he's been saying lately:

keen-bup (clean up)

foofie (movie)-Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a favorite right now but he thinks Rudolph is a mouse so he asks for the mouse foofie

eye-bow, eye-bon, or eyepon (eyebrow)-Tavish likes to rub eyebrows when he is tired, whoevers is available

chock-wit (chocolate)-as in "I want chock-wit" for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack....honestly I'm surprised that this wasn't his first word

achoo-for any cough or sneeze

pitty yights (pretty lights)-any Christmas lights or shiny decorations

gosh tina (as in Napolean Dynamite)-I've been trying to get him to say this for a while and then the other day he was doing something across the room and he must have gotten frustrated with something because out of the blue he says "gosh tina"

peek-a-doo (peek-a-boo)-usually he says "cuckoo" which is what they say in Poland, but just recently he has started saying peek-a-doo as well

wa-sis? (what's this?)-he has just started asking this about everything

yucky buggy-hands down this is the phrase we hear most often everyday...Virginia does have a lot of bugs, but Tavish sees bugs everywhere

A First Thanksgiving

For once this post is not about Tavish...it's about Tom. Uncle Tom's most recent visit coincided with Thanksgiving so he got to experience this great American holiday firsthand. We always go to my sister Alana's house for Thanksgiving, it's "her" holiday. She loves to cook and we love to eat, it's a very symbiotic relationship. She did allow us to bring a pie which Tavish promptly stepped on when getting out of the car at her house...still tasted good though.

Here are the boys loading up their plates...

...and here are 3 Polish boys enjoying a yummy American feast
(note Tavish insisting on eating with the serving tongs)

But the thing Tom was most excited about being here for?....Black Friday. He said he never thought he would get to experience it, we told him he could experience it all by himself :)

A Gross Lesson

Bouillon cubes look benign, right? Well when you're almosy two that shiny gold wrapper looks like CANDY. And when you're whiny and crabby while your mom is making dinner and keep insisting that it IS candy, she might let you take a lick on one of those cubes so that you will taste that it most certainly is NOT candy. But if you're Tavish you take a little bite off the corner instead...and guess what happens then? Lots of gagging and then puking. Then mom almost pukes cleaning it up. But guess what...Tavish had a way better attitude after that...and we had yummy soup for dinner.

Dużo kneblowanie i rzygam. Wtedy mama prawie pukes czyszczenia go. Ale wiecie co ... Tavish miał lepszy sposób postawa po ... i mieliśmy pyszne zupy na obiad.
