And now it's gone...

Out of the blue, Tavish had been saying recently that he wished he would lose his teeth. I dismissed it thinking it wouldn't happen for another year or two. Then one day I glanced at his teeth and thought the bottom ones seemed to be getting more crooked...which I'm probably sensitive to since I've had my braces on for two and half years and am getting a little sick of them. Anyhow...the next day it seemed even worse and when I looked more closely I realized it wasn't crooked but loose! And then the one next to it was loose too! Then Sunday morning he came running in to our room, tooth in hand, and woke us up telling us he had pulled out his tooth...

This wiggly tooth came out the following Thursday...it was hanging on by a thread and when I went to work, Tara the babysitter pulled it out because she was afraid he would aspirate it. So I've missed both teeth coming out. But we have a happy boy.

And this is the pillow the Tooth Fairy brought Tavish after he lost his first tooth so he could put his lost tooth in the pocket and she would in return leave him a little treat in there. Funny story...as we were putting him to bed the night he lost his first tooth and leaving it out for the tooth fairy, Tavish told me in all seriousness that the Tooth Fairy brings a gold coin for lost teeth (I think he saw it on a cartoon somewhere).  But he really believed it and expected it. What's a Tooth Fairy to do at 8pm on Sunday night??? Luckily the Tooth Fairy's helper had happened to go through a toll while driving recently and gotten a gold coin which he donated to the lost tooth fund. For the second tooth the Tooth Fairy brought two chocolate gold coins :)

Paxton's First Haircut

This boy needed a haircut...bad. For some crazy-mama reason I didn't want him to get his haircut until after he turned one because then he wouldn't be a baby anymore *sniff* But then it reached crisis level...

Here's the view from the front...

...and the side.
crazy, right?
He got that morning hair from me :)

So off we went and sweet Irene gave him his first haircut.

He did a great job of holding still most of the time.

But had to check out big brother getting his haircut too.

Two  handsome boys.
And no more crazy hair!

Let it snow...

For some reason this year when I was doing the fall clothes shopping for Tavish I made sure to get him snow pants and boots. I have never bought them in the past because it usually seems like there is one or two good snow storms each winter and that's it. Well, this must have been some sort of prompting because we are getting one snowstorm after another this year. And this boy loves to be out in the snow.

 Wistful longing to go out...

For some reason Tavish always wants to lick the snow.

It was a beautiful cold day and the snow was so dry that it wouldn't really stick to make a proper snowman, so instead we made a snow mound named....Frosty, of course.

Eleven Months

This boy is too busy for photo shoots so now we just get what we can when we can. Also having one boy with a birthday two weeks before Christmas and another boy with a birthday three weeks after Christmas makes you forget to do stuff in December. But here is our winter baby wearing the same winter coat Tavish wore when he was a baby. He has some crazy hair, just like his mama, and seriously needs a haircut.
We have crank open windows in our living room and one Paxton's most favorite things to do is pull the cranks off and crawl around with it hanging out of his mouth. This boy is funny.

Ten Months

Two teeth on top and four on the bottom, but most important....he crawls! The boys and I were in the living room one day and Paxton was on his hands and knees rocking back and forth and you could just see it in him...just go forward...and he finally did and hasn't stopped! He loves being able to go exploring everywhere and follow big brother around. Our little monthly photo shoots have been getting shorter and shorter but this is a game changer for sure...now he just takes off or tries to grab the camera. And within a few days of crawling he started pulling himself up on the furniture too. Here we go!

Autumn

I miss Seattle a lot but there's one thing Virginia is far superior in...Autumn. The leaves, the weather...I love it.

Quote of the day...

Tavish: Mom I have a fart stuck in butt and I'm trying to pop it!

Didn't ask how...
